The eternal search for the fourth dimension has occupied my mind since I started to create art. I find especially fascinating the projection created by a transparent material which creates a unique shadow on the wall. The dream of every artist is to find material which cannot be consumed or broken, and does not change its texture, shape or color in the structure created. After forty years of intensive work, I finally found the material that satisfies all my senses: transparent PVC. In my work I try to express personal ideas and experiences in all its forms, dreams, realistic and fantastic elements illuminated and reflected upon the chosen space.Compositions form three dimensional, transparent designs, constructions with visual depth, which duplicate themselves and create a magical environment, a world where the transparent designs gain volume, body and spirit thanks to internal and external lighting. My wish is to create constantly changing designs, whose shadows reflected on the wall are translucent and three dimensional. These works do not move mechanically only, but they also allow the viewer to flow and fit into the shading, both physically and spiritually. Everything is in constant change. The imaginary world of the shadow that changes endlessly, is part of a dual phenomenon between the existing and the non existing, the hidden and the revealed, a magical environment where dimensions, shapes and objects merge to create new intriguing and surprising dimensions. The essence of the constantly changing shadow allows to experiment with countless states where the nothing, the amorphous, receives form, and the form, becomes amorphous. Many have written about “ego”, ‘real”, “imaginary”; the artist lives the “I” fantastically, experientially, while the inner essence will always remain the same, with the artist, the “I” can change color, shape movement, style, composition or technique, but the essence remains eternal. My works are quiet, introverted, and minor, they look very translucent, radiant, in black and white, always moving and changing back; … yet, this comes from the need to seek protection, inner peace, acceptance. On the one hand, the works are introverted, on the other, extroverted. They express life and death, the earthy and the divine; and so fear becomes a force, they are ephemeral designs, transient, they cannot exist without light. On the other hand, they have physical presence because the material cannot be consumed. It has existence and presence. You can touch and feel. Is not this the empirical and physical world that so many artists wish for?"The materials, the wind, like nature, are not re-created, they exist and are not lost, but they change and transform"..............Mirta Edery
